Agua, Jose
Jose Agua joined the club early in the 2014-15 season. He was probably one of the fastest players to ever play for the club, and caused Essex Senior League defences no end of problems during his time with the club
Jose was one of the club’s most prolific scorers, and his his 20 goals for Forest in the 2014-15 season made him the first player to break the 20 goal margin since Billy Read in 1998-9.
He formed a deadly front-three partnership with Solomon Ofori and Hassana Traore, the trio notching up 49 goals between them.
He left the club at the end of that season, following the appointment of Terry Fogarty, but returned to play under Turgut Essendagli after the club parted company with Fogarty. He was again in prolific form that season, netting 17 times in 23 league games and eventually helping the club stave off the threat of relegation for another year.
He returned very briefly during the 2016-17, playing once.
Oddly, for such a prolific marksman, he hasn’t been seen playing at any other non-league club, butĀ hasĀ featured regularly in the Turkish Community Football League for Yalova, alongside other former Stags Solomon Ofori, Ferhat Husseyin and Opayemi Atta.
