Stuart McLean comes in at number 18 on our list of all time appearances, with 88 starts spread across four seasons.
He was initially with the club when they were Leyton, playing under Kevin Moran, before moving on to Boreham Wood where he had two formidable seasons.
He returned to the club after the merger with Walthamstow Pennant, and was immediately made team captain.
Stuart’s Leyton Pennant debut came on the 11th of November 1995, a 2-2 draw with Barton Rovers.
In his first season back, he made 38 appearances, scoring five goals, and went onto make 23 starts in the 1996-7 season.
As time went on however, injuries began to take their toll, and in the 1997-8 and 1998-9 seasons, he was only able to make a total of 27 appearances.
McLean was one of the most consistent players the club has ever had, who rarely had a bad game.
He was the kind of player who would not always stand out, but would always be missed when he was gone.
His time with the club clearly had a big effect on family life, as his Mother and Father still regularly attend our games today.
