Waltham Forest started their first game in February like an express train and were 4-0 in front after just 10 minutes against Old Minchendenians. In their first attack Erdal Berkler was brought down in the box and got up to convert the spot kick. Two minutes later Ali Sener scored with an a near post effort on the left and on 7 minutes Adem Cagiran scored with a low shot from the right. On 10 minutes Suat Demirel scored the 4th when he broke clear of the visitor’s defence.
Minchendenians came back into the game and reduced the arrears on 20 minutes after hesitation in the Forest defence.
Forest restored their 4 goal advantage on 27 minutes when Hagi Silantaroglu ended a close passing move with a shot from the right. 4 minutes later Meftoni Erbil added a sixth goal.
Shortly after the break Berkler added a seventh and completed his hat-trick on 66 minutes when his long range free-kick eluded the keeper.
Minchendenians came back into the game with 3 goals on 67, 72 and 80 minutes, but Forest had the last say when Silantaroglu scored with a free kick in the last minute for a 9-4 victory.
Forest visit Winchmore Hill next Sunday hoping to avenge last week’s defeat. This game takes place at Paulin Ground, kick-off 10.30.
