Third met fourth, and third prevailed by 4 goals to 3 when Woodford Town beat Waltham Forest at Fairlop Oak Playing Fields.
Woodford took the lead after just 4 minutes when Chris O’Kane got the first touch to a near post corner and beat Mesut Aksu from close range.
Both teams cancelled each other out, but on the half hour Berk Emul broke clear and brought Forest level. Forest squandered a couple of chances and Woodford profited when they restored their lead on 39 minutes.
The second half began with both sides battling for supremacy and Forest levelled when Emul fired home from the edge of the box on 67 minutes. 4 minutes later Forest took the lead when the ball was only partially cleared and Hagi Silantaroglu scored. However, their lead was short lived as 2 minutes later, Forest cleared a corner to the edge of the box, but O’Kane scored with a low shot through a crowded penalty area.
Woodford notched the winner on 79 minutes when the ball was scrambled home from close range.
Next Sunday, 15th March, Forest are away to Hoodwood at FC Cleary Sports Centre, Potters Bar, kick-off 10.30.
