The Football Association have today confirmed the Essex Senior League line-up for 2018-19, as well as the constitutions for other step 6 and 7 leagues across the country.
As expected, Great Wakering Rovers and Basildon United have been promoted from the ESL, but it’s at the other end of the table where things get interesting.
Stansted have won their appeal over their relegation. Stansted were shocked a few weeks ago when they’d been told they’d been relegated. It was understood (and indeed confirmed by the ESL’s twitter account repeatedly) that the bottom three in the division would be sent down, along with Eton Manor, who failed to start the season.
Wadham Lodge, Burnham Ramblers and Hackney Wick have all been relegated.
There’ll be some new faces in the ESL too, as the league’s footprint grows. Hoddesdon Town, Saffron Walden Town, St Margaretsbury and Stanway Rovers will all be joining the league.
The full constitution is as follows:
Safron Walden Town
Sporting Bengal United
There’s also a new league at step 6. The Eastern Senior League has been split into two regional divisions, which will provide promotion and relegation from the Essex Senior and Eastern Counties leagues. It includes a welcome return for Eton Manor. The constitution of the Southern Division is as follows:
Braintree Town Reserves
Harwich & Parkeston
May & Baker
