Walthamstow’s first match will be a prestigious one, as we take on National League South side Dulwich Hamlet at Wadham Lodge.

Our visitors earned a long-overdue promotion at the end of last season, beating Hendon on penalties in the play-off finals.

And there’s a link with the two clubs, with former Stow midfielder Tamba Ngongu now on the coaching staff at Hamlet.

The game will be at 3PM on Saturday 7th July, but this could change depending on England’s progression at the World Cup. Updates will be posted on this website and our social media channels.

Travel:

Note: when using SatNav, please use the postcode E17 4LL.

From North and West London: Use the M25 or any other means to get onto the North Circular Road (A406). Leave A406 at Crooked Billet roundabout slip road. At roundabout take the 4th turn off signposted Leyton/Walthamstow. After 300 yards you will see a church on your left. Turn left here into Brookscroft Road. Follow the road until you are forced to turn left. Turn left into Kitchener Road and you will see the gates to the ground and car park on your right.

From East London: From the M11/A406 junction, follow road flow onto the Southend Road. Exit when you see sign for the A112. This takes you to the Crooked Billet Roundabout. Take the first exit to Walthamstow, then turn left into Brookscroft Road and follow directions above.

From South London: The easiest way is through Blackwell Tunnel then follow signs for Stansted Airport until you get onto the M11 link road. You’ll come through to Leytonstone and to the Redbridge roundabout. Keep left until you flow onto the North Circular Road (A406). Take the A406, then follow the instructions for East London.

By Underground: The nearest tube station is Walthamstow Central on the Victoria line/London Overground. Once there you need to take a 34, 97, 215 or 357 bus going towards Chingford. Watch out for a school, George Monoux 6th Form College and get off when you see it (Cazenove Road bus stop). Walk along the road and turn right at the church into Brookscroft Road, leading to Kitchener Road. Do not cross the Crooked Billet roundabout or you will have gone too far.
