Walthamstow play their last pre-season fixture this Saturday as the league season begins on the 4th of August.

Our friendlies kicked off against a Dulwich Hamlet side who had just been promoted to the National League South. Their quality showed, as they ran out 6-0 winners in what seemed to be their own private goal of the month competition.

A trip to Billy Cove’s Epping was next up, who fielded a team predominately made up of last season’s Ilford squad, and showing some pretty serious caliber for the Olympian League. Goals from James Peagram, Chrstian Owusu, Ross Pope and Ramsey helped Walthamstow to a 4-2 victory.

Enfield Town’s Under 23s visited Wadham Lodge last Saturday, when a early Owusu penalty was enough for Stow to see out a 1-0 win in a game they controlled from start to finish.

Finally, Bostik North side Grays Athletic sent a strong team down to Wadham Lodge, but were dispatched 4-0, thanks to two goals from Peagram, one from Owusu (again from the penalty spot) and a beaut of a free kick from Kubilay Akbayrak.

Stow’s final friendly is against New Salamis at CONEL College this Saturday.
