Emeka was a real ‘larger than life’ character who signed for Forest at the start of the 2004-5 season. He was born in Nigeria, and played for professionally Rangers International Sporting Club of Enugu before moving to England.
Spent pre-season with the club and even played a half against Forest in a friendly, when he stood in between the sticks for Hendon after both their goalkeepers were late to the game.
Emeka made his debut on the 26th of October 2004 in a 3-1 Southern League Cup win over Erith & Belvedere, but he would have to wait until the 4th of December when an injury to first choice keeper Gavin King gave him an opportunity.
Forest went unbeaten his first seven games, but heavy defeats to Bowers & Pitsea and Maldon Town as well as some erratic performances saw King reinstated. Emeka did make three more appearances before the end of the season, and was probably quite uniquely placed in being a second-choice keeper who stuck out an entire season.
Left at the end of the season, and hasn’t been seen playing senior football since.
