Walthamstow’s Veterans side had a friendly on Sunday Morning with London Turkish Masters. This was a good test for the players and proved to be a tight contest.

LTM had the better chances early on, Basir Aransan and Husseyn Yesildag were solid in defence and keeper Ismet Turkoglu was rarely troubled.

Chances continued to be at a premium with Ferhat Erdogan and Sezai Tasci going close for Walthamstow. LTM went in front midway through the second half when they scored from close range following a corner.

Walthamstow levelled ten minutes from time when a long clearance from Arasan found Erdogan on the right win.

His diagonal ball beat the LTM back line and Tasci ran on to score. A 1-1 draw was a fitting result.

Next Sunday, 19th August, Walthamstow entertain Jamrock in a friendly on the park pitch at Wadham Lodge, kick-off 10.30. Any players over 35 interested in joining should text details to Tony Brazier on 07715640171.
