Josh began his career with Southend United, where he progressed through their youth teams to the point where he was named as a substitute three times for the first team.
During his final season as a Southend United scholar, he spent time on loan at Witham Town and Canvey Island in the Isthmian Premier.
The following season he spent a period at Brentwood Town (where he was sent off for a headbutt) and a period at Great Wakering Rovers the season after.
He joined Forest late in the 2016-17 season and made an instant impact, being given the captain’s armband too.
He scored two goals – one of which was a crucial, last-gasp, bicycle kick equaliser against Wadham Lodge in the quarter final of the Gordon Brasted Trophy, a game Forest would go on to win on penalties.
Josh set sail at the end of that season, earning a place at Thompson Rivers University in British Columbia, Canada, playing for their Wolfpack.
