There is set to be some new faces in the Essex Senior League next season.
Hashtag United have been promoted while Cockfosters, Colney Heath and London Colney have all joined from the Spartan League. Cockfosters have welcomed the move, though the two London Colney-based sides are said to be appealing the FA’s decision.
We say farewell to Stanway Rovers who move back to the Eastern Counties League, and Barkingside and Leyton Athletic, who were both relegated to the Eastern Senior League Division 1 South. However, Barkingside are rumoured to be appealing against their relegation too.
Hullbridge Sports have been promoted to the Isthmian League.
Many have pointed out that a supposed Essex league now only has five true Essex sides in its constitution. But after many years of reprieves from step 4 and a lack of promotions from step 6 in the league’s catchment area, it is only natural that the FA will need to adjust the ESL’s boundaries somewhat.
The full constitution, to be ratified at the Essex Senior League’s AGM is as follows:
Saffron Walden Town
Sporting Bengal United
