Walthamstow have pulled off another transfer coup, by signing Charncey Dash.

The striker scored 32 goals in 31 games for St Margaretsbury last season, including a second minute goal against Stow when the two sides met in September.

He spent the last month of the season at Hertford Town in the Bostik League, contributing five goals in seven games to help them avoid the drop, and turned down a number of Bostik League clubs to join Stow.

The 27 year old front man began his career with Barnet, before spells in the Spartan League with Broxbourne Borough, Hatfield Town and Colney Heath.

Speaking to the club’s website, Dash said he couldn’t wait to get started: “I’m looking forward to starting with Walthamstow. My aim is score as many goals as I can for for the club, work hard for my team mates and achieve promotion to the Bostik League.

“Ryan has expressed his ambitions for the club this year and I feel I’m in the right environment to get better as a player”

And Stow manager Ryan Maxwell was full of praise for this new signing: Charncey’s a player I’ve liked for a while.

“He’s clearly got quality but he matches that with his attitude and that’s what we are about at Walthamstow.

“I’m looking forward to working with him.”

To whet your appetite, here’s Charncey in action for Hertford at the end of last season.
