Despite only playing 30 games for Forest, Josh chipped in with 15 goals, and that’s perhaps an indication of how important he was at the end of the 2010-11 season, and the start of 2011-12.
He was brought in by Wale Ojelabi when Forest were struggling at the wrong end of the Isthmian Division 1 North table, and his six goals in eight games helped Forest avoid relegation, albeit via a reprieve.
And the following season, Forest started like a freight train, even sitting at the top of the table after a few games. Josh had a fine start to the season, but it was always marred by a lack of discipline.
At 3-1 up away to Soham Town Rangers on the first day of the season, Forest were cruising and Josh had scored twice already. However, after a niggly foul, Josh got wound up by a scuffle, and ended up being shown a straight red.
As Forest’s playing budget began to dry up, south London-based Josh moved to Walton & Hersham, for the first of three spells there.
Brief stints at Redhill (twice) and Wingate & Finchley broke up those Walton & Hersham stays, with Josh last being seen playing for Chatham Town in the 2015-16 season.
Those 30 games played for Forest were as part of one of the club’s better sides in the last decade, and Josh came back to help the club in winter of 2017-18, taking part in a fundraising ‘legends’ match at Wadham Lodge.
