I’d like to say a huge thank you to Walthamstow FC, Lee and the committee for this opportunity at one of the biggest non-league community inclusive clubs in East London. I’ve been following Walthamstow’s progress over the past few years on and off the pitch and I’ve been really impressed with the speed into which the club has elevated itself and what plans have been put in place for us to be able to lead and climb the football ladder, over the next few years.
Having said that, I think it would be naive not to address what’s happened over the last few weeks. We need to understand and realise that when a club changes its manager, there is a transitional stage that we all must go through in order to move forward and achieve what the ambition was at the start of the season; to achieve BetVictor League status. I’m keen to make sure that the transitional gap is bridged in record time, which in turn will allow us to hit the ground running and follow on the consistency the players and club have shown all year.
I’d like to thank all players and staff that have chosen to stay the course during this tough period and made themselves available over the weekend. I’m really looking forward to meeting you all this week. There will be additions to the management team announced over the next few days, and we will replace what we have lost on the player front with quality and experience. These announcements will be made during the next few weeks so keep your eyes peeled.
Lastly, we would appreciate all of your support for the remainder of the season. I’m currently in Dubai and back in the UK as of Monday so will be taking charge of Tuesday’s cup fixture. We’re in a great position in the league with a real chance of winning the ESL title and what an achievement that will be given the circumstances.
Hard work, accepting change, good energy and a winning mentality will take us there!
