Player of the Season voting open

The 2019-20 season may have been cut short, but there’s no reason we can’t celebrate the successes of our players on the field.

Today we are opening the voting for our Supporters Player of the Season.

To vote for your player, please tweet @walthamstowfc, or email andrzej@walthamstowfc.com

The nominees are:

Emiel Aiken

Emiel made 30 crucial appearances by the time the season ended. His forward and hold-up play was superb and added some crucial goals, none more so than a superb individual effort against Hadley in the Peter Butcher Trophy. Showed great versatility, and was a great asset to the squad.

Callum Ibe

Made the switch from Stansted a few weeks into the season and showed why he was one of the hottest properties in the League. Gave unmatched commitment in every game, running himself into the ground week after week. Scored an incredible overhead kick against Ilford for his first goal for the club.

Dwade James

A staggering 40 goals in 36 games made Dwade the Senior League’s top scorer by a mile, and top scorer for the second season running. More than just a goal scorer, Dwade had plenty of assists this season too, bringing a whole new dimension to his game.

Vinny Murphy

As solid a defender as you’re going to get, Vinny made 24 appearances this season. Saved his one goal of the season for an absolute scorcher away to Takeley, to get us on the way to a 3-0 win.
