Having joined Walthamstow recently, Tommy Fletcher had already played a vital role when he scored the winner against Saffron Walden. Now, we are seeing what he’s been doing during lockdown and how he felt his short-time with Stow last season went when he caught up with him earlier in the week.
What have you been doing during lockdown to keep yourself busy?
Unless I’ve been working from home, I’ve been trying to stay as active as possible. Road running, gym sessions in the garden or dog walks to get me outside. Now it’s time to hit the golf course!
Some solid performances in a Walthamstow shirt last term. How would you describe how last term went for you?
Personally, I think there is a lot more to come from me. Although we got wins, I wasn’t fully fit after coming back from injury and it was going to take a couple of games to get used to a new team.
You scored a vital winning goal against Saffron Walden, is this something we can get used to next season?
I hope so! I scored a few earlier in the season, so let’s hope it carries on.
What are you looking forward to most about next season, whenever that may be?
First and foremost, getting back on the pitch and kicking a ball! There was nothing we could do about the season ending early and stopping us getting promoted. So our first target and what we’re looking forward to is getting that promotion.
