Walthamstow have secured the services of one of the hottest youth prospects in the area, as Sam Jeremiah joins the club. The front-man was top scorer in the Isthmian Under 23 Development League last season, scoring 26 goals for Bowers and Pitsea.
“I joined Walthamstow because it’s a local club to me” the new recruit said. “They are playing at a good level and pushing for promotion. That made it an exciting club to join.”
Sam is now ready to make the step up to mens football, and the excitement is easy to see. “With the chance to play more senior football week in, week out, I’ll be able to learn and pick up things from the players at the club as the season goes on.”
Boosted by the club’s history of giving youth players a chance in the first team, the prospect of learning from and playing alongside Samrai Gebrai also excited the new addition. “I am definitely excited. I think it will be good to pick up tips from him about the style of play of the team and the best way to contribute.”
Having scored 25 goals for Bowers U23s last season, Sam was the top scorer in the Isthmian U23’s league and he hopes he can bring the same form to Stow. “You can definitely expect goals from me. I would love to contribute as much as I can to the club’s title push next season.”
Like the majority of other non-league players, managers and fans, the return of football can’t come soon enough. “I’m buzzing for football to start back up again. It might finally feel like life is getting back to normal.”
