Prolific front-man reunites with Mitchell

After many attempts, Walthamstow have finally got their man. Charncey Dash becomes one of Max Mitchell’s latest signings as he commits to the Stags ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Dash initially trained with Stow at the start of the 2019-20 season, but moved to Tring Athletic, reuniting with Stow manager Mitchell, having played under him at St Margaretsbury and Hertford Town.

Since 2018/19, Dash has been prolific in front of goal scoring, 55 in 62 games including 32 goals in 31 appearances for St Margaretsbury during the 2018/19 season before having spells at Hertford, Tring and Takeley.

According to the new addition, he just had to look at the current squad before making the decision to join. “The players and the management as a whole have just got real potential. I think anyone would jump at the chance to be a part of this club next season.”

Like many others, the FA announcement for the return of football next month has certainly got Charncey excited. “Excited is an understatement for me. I tried my hand at Golf and well, all I can say is, football can’t come back soon enough!”

As a front-man, the target remains the same for the upcoming season. “You can expect goals from me, don’t worry about that, but the main thing for me is as a team we accomplish everything we have the potential to do and in my eyes that is everything. And I mean everything!”

“I have the same target at the start of any season and this one is no different. Score as many as possible and give everything for my team” he added.

He was also excited to be on the same pitch as one current Stow defender. “I’m looking forward to playing alongside Jason Beck for sure. We just get on so well every time we share a football pitch. I think he loves me.”
