Stow’s good pre-season start continued with a 1-0 win away to Isthmian Premier side Bowers & Pitsea.
Bowers fielded a strong side in the first half, and started on the front foot. But Stow grew into the game and frequently found space behind the home defence.
Just after having a good finish ruled out for offside, Joe Wright broke down the left wing and cut back for Connor Scully who had his legs clipped as he was about to shoot. Ollie Sotoyinbo confidently rolled home the resulting penalty for his third goal in two pre-season games.
Bowers changed ten of their eleven players for the second half, but Stow continued to create chances. Harrison Carnegie went closes, rattling the foot of the post from close-range.
Stow will now host academy side Finishing Touch Football this Saturday at Wadham Lodge.
