Bond Leaves Swifts
Ryman League Division One North club Heybridge Swifts have parted company with manager Wayne Bond after a run of ten league games without a win.
Their last three-point haul was on October 16th.
Chairman Nick Bowyer said: “Wayne offered his resignation earlier in the season after a run of bad results but the committee were supportive of him and were confident he could turn the season round, but after a further run of ten league games without a win it was inevitable that a change was needed.
“I would like to thank Wayne for his hard work both for the reserves and first team and wish him well for the future.”
Bond’s assistant Mark Hawkes will act as caretaker-manager for the home match with Romford on Tuesday and the visit to Tilbury on Saturday.
Bond said: “If I were on the committee I would have sacked me! I have always tried to do my best to steer Heybridge Swifts through a very difficult period of their history when finances to compete in the league were difficult. I have had some great times while being in charge and have many good memories and I hope I have made many friends. I’m sure the club will get back on track very shortly.”
