Waltham Forest took a hard-earned point away from Harlow in testing conditions, but it could have been all three.
The home side dominated much of the first half, without really causing any great danger to Ramos in the Forest goal.
On 40 minutes, a breakthrough came from Forest. Luke Stanley was brought down on the left hand side of the Harlow half, though his free-kick was met just outside the area by a Harlow defender.
However, Arian Retkoceri delivered the loose ball into the box, where Jack Leachman controlled beautifully on his chest before firing into the far corner of the goal.
Harlow had the first real chance of the first half, with skipper Stanley Munogo testing Ramos with a powerful strike from distance.
Forest thought they should have had a nailed on penalty when Leachman appeared to be clipped in the box when clean through on goal, but their cries were turned down, and a goal kick was awarded. Leachman subsequently limped off the pitch and was replaced by Joel Palmer.
At the other end, Manny Sackey was lucky to escape with just a booking as a strong tackle left Mitchell Das unable to continue.
Perhaps making up for his leniency to Sackey, the referee held back an almost certain second yellow for Munogo which would have seen the Hawks skipper sent off.
Then in the 96th minute, Harlow grabbed a late equalizer as Danny Brown tapped in unmarked at the back post.
After the match, Forest Chairman Turgut Esendagli took to Twitter to praise his side’s performance, saying “Well done boys. Away point look good before the match but the effort you put deserved more than single point.”
