Kemal sets sights on title challenge

New Waltham Forest manager Kem Kemal outlined his ambitions for the season in an interview with the Non-Leauge Paper.

He told The NLP: “I’m not too concerned about what happened last year. The only thing I’m really concerned with is the players I want to bring in and the ones that are here from last year.

“We have to give those players every chance to express themselves in training and in the friendlies.

“I know that last season they only just avoided relegation and their record wasn’t great, but I’m not fussed about what happened last year.”

Along with assistant Tolga Husein, Kemal now knows that he will need all of this experience to turn around the fortunes of his new club.

“It’s a tough league, it’s a league that I’ve never managed in,” he said. “We know that only one team goes up, which makes everything more difficult.

“With the experience we’ve had, we know what we’re prepared for and I think the plus point is that we approach this knowing what it takes at Ryman level and Evo-Stik level.

“We left Ware in a good position. I’ll approach this like I’m running a team in the Ryman League, I know what the attitude of the players needs to be and we know what type of side we need to build.

“It’s not going to be easy, but my ambition is to win the league, simple as that.”
