Leyton Pennant gave Ryman League premier division side Grays Athletic an early shock before succumbing to a 4-2 defeat in the Essex Senior Cup.
The Lilywhites took the lead on 22 minutes with a header from Simon Tickner. Tommy Lee doubled the lead ten minutes later with a piledriver from 20 yards out.
Spencer Fletcher could have put Pennant 3-0 up but his shot hit the post.
Grays pulled one back at the end of the first half and dominated the first part of the second period, scoring twice within a few minutes of the restart. As the Lilywhites pushed up in the closing stages, Grays broke away and scored their fourth.
