Max Mitchell continues to bolster his Stow squad, ahead of the league opener against Fakenham Town.
Ali Njie returns, having spent last year at Cambridge City and the start of this campaign at Canvey Island. Njie was an ever-present for City last season, as he was for Stow the year before, when he scored five goals in 42 appearances. With Blackpool as a youngster, Njie can also play in midfield, and has had spells at Potters Bar Town and Wingate & Finchley.
Young striker Elijah Grant is also back in E17, having spent the last two season scoring prolifically at Sawbridgeworth Town. The forward scored 38 in 62 games for Sawbo, joining them after a brief spell at Welwyn Garden City. He was with Ryan FC as a youngster, and graduated to the Stow reserves team for his first taste of senior football.
Defender Jack Empson joins, having spent pre-season with Waltham Abbey. He was released from the Abbotts the day before the start of the season, and issued a “come and get me” plea on social media, which at the time of writing, has amassed over three million views. Jack was a played in high demand, and Stow are delighted to secure his services for the coming season. He spent last season at Marlow, where he was the manager’s Player of the Season, and has also played for Aylesbury United and Northwood. Was with Kettering Town as a youngster, and played for the South Bend Lions in the States, who were under the same ownership.
Finally, forward player Tristan Goodridge joins, having impressed in pre-season with solid performances and a real goal threat. He was with Aston Villa as a youngster, playing extensively in their Premier League 2 team. After a period out of the game, he was back last season playing for British Airways.
