Waltham Forest’s pre-season preparations were dealt a blow as they lost 1-0 to Sawbridgeworth, despite dominating much of the game.
Forest’s first chance fell to Chris Taylor, who fired narrowly over from a Ricardo Ponton cross.
The first half continued in much the same way, with Forest pressing, but unable to break the deadlock.
In the second half, a number of changes were made by both sides, but the pattern of play remained the same.
However, it was the home side who scored the only goal of the game, with a sumptuous volley from well outside the area.
Forest continued to press into the dying minutes of the game, but were unable to break through.
Next up are Eton Manor, who we entertain on the main pitch at Wadham Lodge on Wednesday 31st August.
