Walthamstow FC are delighted to announce the launch of a girls’ section for the 2026-27 season.
Three teams will become part of the Stow family, playing at U18, U16 and U14 in the Essex Girls League.
This marks another huge step in the development of the club, as we continue to grow and represent our community.
Vice Chairman Andrzej Perkins said “I’m delighted to welcome the players, parents and management to Walthamstow FC family.
“These will not just be teams playing under the Walthamstow name, as is the case with many youth teams in our area. They will be a true part of the club, and will contribute to any success we have in the future.
“They will form a pathway to the women’s first team, and we’re excited to continue to expand our youth set-up.
Head of the girls section, Ernest Eghan said “At our previous clubs we developed girls to a very good level with winning success, girls going into pro clubs but understanding the pyramid. We developed girls’ resilience, confidence and defeated many stereotypes due to firstly being females and secondly our diverse cultures and demographics.
“This time we look to create a pathway into women’s football by building the conveyor belt into the women’s team to go through the pyramid and hopefully have 40% – 60% of our girls into the first team.
“The majority of our girls are based in Walthamstow (and go to surrounding Schools in Stow, Hackney and Tottenham. So this move is not just exciting but we will have a strong affiliation of this being our home as we start a new journey.
“If you know us as personally in our previous clubs we are always in for the LONG HAUL.
