Tilbury Preview (1-2-11)

In a match just as important as the two games against Ilford and Leyton, tomorrow we face Tilbury in another six point relegation battle. Until a few weeks ago, Tilbury seemed relatively far away from the dog-fight going on beneath them. However, a pick-up in form by us, Redbridge and Ilford, coupled with Tilbury’s probable loss of the six points they picked up off Leyton means that Tilbury are actually at the foot of the table, two points behind us.

The Dockers have clearly realised the trouble that they are now in, and have active swiftly to bring in some new players. Conor Mead has signed from East Thurrock, while they have also brought in Danny Curran from Canvey Island.

Forest meanwhile will be without both Joel Palmer and Ian Luck who are suspended for one and three games respectively. Sam Adejonkun is expected to start up front.

The form tables could hardly be closer. We have taken 10 points from our last six games, while Tilbury have taken nine, beating Grays, Harlow and coming from behind to beat Ilford 2-1 at the weekend.

The Beer Hunter’s Guide to Tilbury:
Tilbury’s ground sits amid a veritable beer desert – but if you are going to the match via Grays, go over the level crossing by Grays station, carry on down towards the river, and you will come across two beltingly good pubs on opposite corners in Kings Walk. The Theobald Arms is a traditional small, quiet local, the White Hart is a large and lively house, and both have an excellent range of beers. Both thoroughly recommended!
