Waltham Forest 2-3 Waltham Abbey

Yet again, the Forest attack proved they know where the goal is, unhappily, the defence have problems defending their goal. For the first 32 minutes Forest looked world beaters: they scored on 22 minutes when Manu Dagher cut in from the left and crossed. The ball was partially defended but Courtney White was on hand to slot home.

On 32 minutes the home side went two ahead when White headed home sweetly from an Inaki Ordono corner. Unhappily for the home side they thought they’d won the match and wen to sleep. Eight minutes later Steve Cawley pulled one back for Abbey with a 35 peach of a shot.

Then, with only minutes left in the half Louis Bristow made the most of an open home defence to score from 15 yards cutting in from the left.

Forest did not show up for the second half. Bristow scored the third for Abbey on 72 minutes with a speculative cross that bounced over the home ‘keeper. They also hit the post just before. Forest were blunt and lacking any initiative. Substitutions had no effect. They have now gone more than two months without a win from such a bright start.
