Ware 1-0 Waltham Forest

Things haven’t got any easier for Forest, who now find themselves seven points adrift from safety at the foot of the table after a 1-0 defeat to fellow strugglers Ware.

In a match devoid of quality and chances, it was a mistake from Forest ‘keeper David Myers which resulted in the only goal of the game.

A long range effort from 40 plus yards could only be parried by Myers to the feat of Anthony Anstead who duly fired into an unguarded net.

If the first half was bad, the second half was even worse, with neither side mustering a shot on target.

Entertainment was therefore provided by the referee, who gave a large number of free-kicks against the general consensus, including one for Forest some 50 yards away from where play was taking place.

In the end, the game petered out with neither side threatening the score line.
