Whitton goes at Brentwood

Inconsistent Ryman League Division One North club Brentwood Town have parted company with manager Les Whitton by mutual consent. He had been with them since just before the start of last season.

He took over after the sudden departure of Carl Griffiths and had to rebuild the squad. Town took only four points from their first ten games but rallied strongly to finished twelfth.

They had high hopes for this season but up-and-down results have left them in tenth place, six points off the play-offs.

Brentwood have been left without a game on Saturday after Leyton’s withdrawal from the league.
