Mildenhall Town 1-3 Walthamstow
Walthamstow travelled to Mildenhall Town on Saturday, scoring three goals and picking up three points in a 3-1 win on the last away day of the season.
It was another performance worthy of the win, with Stow coming out firing in the second half.
Both teams started brightly but the hosts were the ones to strike first. Ryan Swift picked up the ball in the box who went around David Hughes and fired home into an empty net to give Mildenhall the lead.
Stow started to pile the pressure on the hosts with crosses from Charlie Heatley and Jordan Peart being flashed across the box with no one in blue on the end of them.
Mildenhall came close to doubling their lead when a corner was swung into the back post and cleared off the line by Chama Torsiello after a goal mouth scramble.
Stow eventually found the equaliser right before half time which would go on to change the course of the match. Brian Garzon played a through ball to Jordan Peart who got to the by-line and squared it across to Wilson Bernal standing unmarked at the back post who tapped the ball into the roof of the net and sent both teams level into half time.
The second half began with a screamer from Charlie Heatley to make it 2-1 just eight minutes in. Callum Ibe skipped past his man and gave the ball to Heatley, who turned and fired it into the top right corner to give Stow the lead for the first time in the game.
Five minutes later, Stow made it three through their number three. Brian Garzon’s corner was well met by Jordan Peart who rose highest and headed the ball into the top corner to make it 3-1 to the Stow.
It was then total control for the blues, who managed to see out the win comfortably.
