Waltham Forest 0-4 Great Wakering Rovers
Waltham Forest’s poor pre-season form continued as they were thrashed 4-0 by recently-promoted Great Wakering Rovers.
The game started with the visiting side on the front foot, and it took a good few minutes before Forest were able to get a substantial touch on the ball.
With 24 first half minutes played, Rovers took the lead, after the Forest ‘keeper fumbled a routine front-post cross into his own goal.
In the second half, Forest capitulated, as a passing move cut through Forest with alarming ease, before an own goal made it 3-0.
Forest finally managed a shot on goal mid-way through the second half, but Rovers then went on to hit the bar not long after.
Goalkeeping coach Harry Hussein was forced to make an appearance from the bench and take over between the sticks after an injury, and he was dully lobbed from 40+ yards minutes later to make the score 4-0.
Forest take on Wingate & Finchley on Tuesday, in their last pre-season friendly.
