Advent calendar 2015: Day 10 – Whyteleafe 3-5 Leyton Pennant

In the 1998-9 season, Leyton Pennant were a relatively mid-table side. 12th in 1996-7 and 10th in 1997-8.

Playing away to Whyteleafe – who Pennant had beaten three times and drawn once with in previous meetings – Pennant were on the back of two back-to-back wins against Croydon and Hertford Town.

Whyteleafe eventually finished 19th out of 22 teams that season.

Sadly, there’s little record of this match online, other than Stuart McLean, Jamie Bebbington, Che Stadhard and a double from Paul Salmon were enough to seal the points for Pennant.
