Experienced pair find a new home

Stow manager Nicky Ironton has taken on two experienced players from Harlow Town, who were forced to resign from the league earlier this month.

Midfielder or centre-back Fabion Simms and midfielder Jared Small have both joined the club.

Simms, 33, originally joined Harlow in March 2014 from Potters Bar Town and then moved to then-Isthmian Premier outfit Cheshunt in August 2019 and to then-Isthmian South Central side Waltham Abbey in October 2020 before re-joining Harlow in May 2021.

He was a regular in the starting line-up for the Scholars and was previously with Kentish Town and Hendon.

He was the Hawks` players` player of the year for 2017/18.

Small, 32, impressed the Tonbridge Angels management team when he came visiting with Harlow in 2017/18 and consequently signed for the now National League South club in June 2018 before returning to the Hawks in May 2021.

He has plenty of experience with previous spells at Brentwood Town and Enfield Town as well as Harlow.

He made 43 appearances as Angels won promotion to the National League South via the Isthmian Premier play-offs in 2018/19.

Both made their debut in the Boxing Day win over Waltham Abbey.
