Felixstowe & Walton v Walthamstow preview
Walthamstow make the journey to Suffolk on Saturday to take on Felixstowe & Walton United in the Isthmian League.
Stow began their run of three away games on the bounce at struggling Lowestoft Town on Tuesday and ran out as 4-0 winners. The game was essentially sealed in half an hour as Brian Garzon picked up the match ball to give Stow a three-goal lead at half time. Callum Ibe made it four just after the break, and it got worse for Lowestoft as they were reduced to ten men as Connor Deeks was shown a straight red for something he had said to the referee. This now moves Stow ten points clear of the relegation zone.
Saturday’s visitors to Wadham Lodge travelled to Felixstowe on Tuesday and picked up three points in a 2-0 win. Dan Trendall’s brace gave the Dockers a 2-0 lead into half time, with the score remaining that way until the final whistle. Felixstowe were also reduced to ten men when Toby Stevenson was shown a second yellow card,
Stow and Felixstowe met back in early November at Wadham Lodge where the league leaders came out victorious in a 2-1 win. Tom Warren gave Felixstowe the lead 27 minutes into the first half before Joe Elliott levelled it up right before half time. It was a close game with Stow looking to take the lead, but it wasn’t to be as the visitors scored the winner in the 70th minute through Sam Ford, who was thought to have handballed the ball in the build-up. Felixstowe hung on for the next twenty minutes and claimed the three points.
