Fixture release dates announced

The Ryman League have today released the dates for the FA competition draws and the 2011-12 league fixtures.

The draws for the early rounds of the FA Cup and FA Trophy will be announced on Friday the 8th of July. Forest will be hoping for a kinder FA Cup draw than in recent years. Our opposition have come from the following levels: (Starting with the Preliminary round)

2010-11: Step 4 (Enfield Town)
2009-10: Step 4 (Great Wakering Rovers) > (Step 3) Boreham Wood
2008-9: Step 4 (Thamesmead Town)
2007-8: Step 5 (Wellingborough Town) > Step 3 (Wealdstone)
2006-7: Step 4 (Marlow) > Step 4 (AFC Sudbury)
2005-6: Step 5 (Fakenham Town) > Step 3 (Hitchin Town)

It is fair to say that the draw has been unkind on Forest in recent years, while other clubs have progressed to the latter qualifying phaeses without playing anyone above Step 4. Despite this, first team manager Wale Ojelabi is still confident of progressing in the competition.

Meanwhile, the league have also announced that Ryman Division 1 North fixtures will be release on Wednesday the 13th of July.
