Forest show pre-season resilience
WALTHAM FOREST produced two comeback performances as they continued their pre-season campaign with a 4-2 win at Hillingdon Borough and a 3-3 draw with Bethnal Green Untied, writes Matt Bass.
Tuesday night saw Forest recover from a three-goal deficit to earn a draw at the Metropolitan Police Sports Ground, Chigwell.
The result followed on from Saturday’s success at Hillingdon, where Olawale Ojelabi’s men again allowed their opponents to take a commanding early position.
Forest made a slow start to the match, training 2-0 before coming to life and scoring the next four goals for victory.
Ojelabi’s side will visit Hadleigh United on Saturday before a midweek fixture at home to Wingate & Finchley rounds off their pre-season campaign.
The latter should prove a stern test for Forest after the visitors were promoted to the Ryman Premier Division last season.
Forest though, have managed to find the net in all of their warm-up games so far, suggesting they have a potent attack as the squad comes together for the season.
Many players from the previous campaign have been involved in friendly action for the club, while a pair of strikers from the lower leagues have also found themselves on the score sheet for Forest.
Ojelabi is still on the look-out for experienced players however, as he puts together a competitive squad ahead of the start of the new campaign against Soham Town Rangers on August 20.
