Harrow Borough 2-1 Walthamstow

Stow’s pre-season ended in defeat in west London.

Callum Ibe gave Stow an early lead, but a goal either side of half time meant it was victory for Harrow.

The game looked like it was heading for a big finish, only for it to descend into farsical scenes with 70 minutes played.

A Harrow Borough player was given a second yellow card for timewasting (with 20 minutes still to play, in a friendly), and one of his teammates was also given his marching orders for dissent. Around ten minutes were lost while the referee attempted to regain control of proceedings.

The last 20 were a slow-paced attack v defence, but Stow couldn’t find that cutting edge.

After all this, the referee opted not to add any time on at the end of the 90.

The serious stuff starts next weekend, when Stow host Gorleston in the Isthmian League.
