Ilford 0 – 1 Waltham Forest
Matches between these two sides have a tendancy to be very strongly contested affairs, and this afternoon’s match was no different. A tight first half saw the sides go in at half time with the score at 0-0. Forest’s chances took a turn for the worse ten minutes into the second half when Ian Luck was sent off. Dispite being a numerical disadvantage, Forest took the lead on 65 minutes when Brian Okwera scored his fourth goal of the season. Despite holding the upper hand, the red mist decended over Forest again as Joel Palmer was sent off on 75 minutes. However, Forest were able to hold on during the final quarter of an hour and record three points which helped them leapfrog Ilford and move out of the relegation places for the first time since September last year. In the last five games between the two sides, seven red cards have been shown.
