Lowestoft Town v Walthamstow preview

Walthamstow make the long journey to Lowestoft Town on Tuesday in the Isthmian League.

This fixture was originally meant to be played on Saturday 10th January, however the game was called off the day before due to a waterlogged pitch.

Stow faced off against local rivals Redbridge on Saturday and came from two goals down to win 3-2. Malachi Napa and Pedro Carvalho got onto the scoresheet for the Motormen, before three goals in the space of 13 minutes from Brian Garzon, Keano Robinson and Charlie Heatley turned the game on its head, giving Stow a well-deserved victory. 

Lowestoft were scheduled to make the trip to Witham Town on Saturday, however that game was called off.

Stow haven’t faced Lowestoft since the 2023/2024 season, where Lowestoft were crowned league champions. Stow travelled up to the seaside in November 2023, under the management of Nicky Ironton and were pipped by a late winner from the hosts. Jordon Watson gave Stow the lead just 12 minutes into the first half, before Harvey Sayer’s penalty in the second half drew the game level. Olly Sotoyinbo regained Stow’s lead which only lasted five minutes thanks to a Jake Reed equaliser. Harvey Sayer’s second of the game was the match winner in the 90th minute. 

The reverse fixture took place in early February, with the points being shared in a 2-2 draw at Wadham Lodge. Bilal Sayoud got Stow’s opener just two minutes in but were pegged back two minutes after via Harvey Sayer. Adam Hipperson gave Lowestoft the lead on the 17th minute, before Kymani Thomas’ debut goal on the half hour mark was all that was needed for a point.
