Maldon and Tiptree v Walthamstow preview

Walthamstow make the journey to Maldon & Tiptree on Saturday, in Colin Reid’s first league game as manager.

Stow were in Isthmian League Cup action in midweek taking on Isthmian Premier side Wingate & Finchley at Wadham Lodge, with the hosts prevailing via a penalty shootout. A brace from Joe Gregory and from Gianluca Botti sent the tie to penalties, with Rasheed Salau and Elliot Sartorius being denied from 12 yards.

Maldon were away at Brentwood Town on Tuesday in the Essex Senior Cup and progressed to the next round with a 3-0 win. Macauley Bonne and Courtney Senior gave the Jammers a 2-0 lead going into half time, with Terrel Egbri wrapping up the tie in the 56th minute.

The last meeting between Stow and Maldon was exactly a month ago in the Essex Senior Cup, where Macauley Bonne scored late on to send them through to the next round. Stow were down to ten men when Rasheed Salau received his second yellow card and was sent off.
