Martyn Busson Resigns

At tonight’s (Thursday) Committee meeting Martin Busson tendered his resignation as First Team Manager. He has offered to remain in charge until the selection process of the new manager has been concluded. Applicants should write to the Chairman at the club address.

Martin spoke to the Committee at length. He said that he was sad to be resigning as the job was one he had wanted for many years. He was always a club man and wanted only what was best for the club. He felt it was obvious that one point from this season’s games was not enough and that he had standards which some of the players had not lived up to. Indeed, some players had let him down.

He had spent many hours telephoning players but with little success. He had tried to keep too many players happy and this was, perhaps, a mistake.

In accepting the resignation, Chairman Dave Crabb thanked Martin for what he had tried to do. He made the point that we have always tried to keep the managership in house but that now it was time for someone from outside to bring in fresh ideas.

Applications are invited for the post of Manager to: The Chairman, Leyton Pennant F.C. Wadham Lodge, Kitchener Road. Walthamstow E17 4JP
