Match preview: Burnham Ramblers v Waltham Forest
Waltham Forest make their longest trip of the season this evening as they travel to Burnham Ramblers. An early departure from London will be needed, but Forest will be happy to get this long-distance journey out of the way before the winter.
Forest will be on a high, having dispatched Redbridge 5-1 in the FA Cup on Saturday. Ramblers suffered even more than Redbridge, going down 9-0 to an Ilford side who already look very strong, only two games into the season. The home side this evening will no doubt be looking to bounce back and turn in a far improved performance, so Forest will have to be on good form if they want to get anything from the game.
Stephen O’Hara, Tashan Richmond and Mustapha Denizer all left Saturday’s game early due to injury, so it remains to be seen if they will be available tonight.
Since being relegated from the Ryman League, Ramblers have not performed as well as they would have liked, finishing 14th last season. In the reverse of this fixture last time around, Forest won 4-1, despite playing much of the game with 10 men.
Burnham won the game at Wadham Lodge 4-1, and also beat Forest 2-0 in the Essex Senior Cup.
