Match preview: Forest v Stansted
Waltham Forest aim to make it three games unbeaten this weekend as they travel north to take on Stansted.
Stansted are two games unbeaten themselves, having beaten Greenhouse Sports 2-1 and Takeley 5-0. These wins have helped them move up to 9th in the table.
Olly Fortune is joint top scorer with six goals in 17 games, while Thomas Lakin is looking dangerous, scoring six in five starts, including five goals in his last two games.
Forest’s top scorer, Jose Agua, has six goals in seven league starts.
A win for Forest could see them move to 18th, just two points behind Southend Manor and Takeley. Stansted could leapfrog Clapton and move to 8th.
The two sides have squared off six times in our history.
Between 1999 and 2004, Forest won all three games without conceding a goal – 3-0 and 1-0 in the Eastern Floodlight Cup, and 2-0 in the Essex Senior League.
Since then, Stansted have a 100% record – winning 3-1 and 5-2 last season, and 2-1 in September of this season.
