New signings as Stow take shape for 2023-24 season

After securing the services of a number of Stow favourites for the coming season, Nicky Ironton has also been hard at work to strengthen his squad with a host of new signigns.

First through the door was Dwade James, a man who needs no introduction around these parts.

He was followed by Harold Joseph, a defender with bags of experience having played for Royston Town, Enfield Town and St Albans City.

Wing back Luke Foster joined from just around the A406, signing from New Salamis, where he played over 100 games and was rated as one of the best in his position at step four. A local lad, he has also played for Witham Town, Brentwood Town and Aveley.

Rian McLean (pictured above) is also a young defender who will be joining Stow. He was with Leyton Orient and Doncaster Rovers as a youngster and spent time last season with Witham Town and Enfield Town.

A versatile defender or midfielder Jay Rolfe reunites with Nicky Ironton, the two having worked together at Welwyn Garden City, where Rolfe spent five seasons. He spent last season at Royston Town.

Joining Rolfe Junior will be Rolfe Senior; Steve has joined Ironton’s management team.

Finally, Tony Martin returns to the club after more than ten years away. Centre forward Martin has previously played for Ironton at Ware, and last season won promotion to the step four with Redbridge.
