Newham 2-1 Waltham Forest

Waltham Forest’s poor form continued as they went down 2-1 to Newham, despite dominating long periods of the match.

The first real chance of the game fell to Jose Agua, whose tame shot was tipped onto the post and out for a corner by the Newham ‘keeper.

Dan Crowie gave the home side the lead with their first attack of the half, half-volleying in from an acute angle.

Agua could have had a first-half hattrick, while Ofori should have also done better with a couple of opportunities.

At the other end Jon Jon Sexton took down Crowie in the box, with former Forest striker Danny Gabriel smashing home the resulting penalty.

James Ogunleye pulled a goal back for Forest, volleying home Ofori’s free kick, but Forest caused themselves more problems in the second half, and never really threatened the Newham goal again.
