Newham preview (16-1-16)
Waltham Forest will be looking to play their first match since the 19th of December this Saturday as they take on Newham in a basement clash.
Newham have only won three games all season, and once in their last 11 games. They’ve drawn five and lost their remaining 14 games this season, scoring just 22 goals, but letting in 50.
There will be some familiar faces in the Newham camp this Saturday at Wadham Lodge, as they are jointly managed by Sham Darr, who played for Forest between 2009 and 2011, scoring three goals in 6 starts and 18 substitute appearances. Kevin Lucas, who managed Forest for a very brief spell in 2008 (he lost all six games he was in charge), is Darr’s partner.
Sam Adejokun, Arshad Coowar, Karl Lewis, Dean Pennant, Chris Theodore and Darryl Wilson have all played for Forest in the past and have signed first team forms for Newham this season.
Until the start of last season, Newham were known as London APSA. The two sides have met twice in competitive fixtures – both last season – where Forest lost 2-1 at the Old Spotted Dog, and drew 2-2 at Wadham Lodge.
