Redbridge 2-1 Waltham Forest

Forest’s fate looks all the more sealed after they failed to break down a determined Redbridge side.

The Stags were looking bright in the opening few minutes, but it was the home side who took the lead with just four minutes played.
Former Forest frontman Danny Francis met a deep cross with a half volley, and while his initial shot was saved, Husseyin was powerless to stop the rebound.

Forest continued to press, and were level thanks to Stephane Koffi, who scored what will probably prove to be Forest’s goal of the season.

After Redbridge failed to clear a corner, Koffi unleashed an unstoppable half-volley, which dipped just under the bar and just over the home ‘keeper.

The joy was short-lived, though as Emiel Aiken restored Redbridge’s lead just two minutes later, stabbing home from close range after Danny Charge’s initial effort hit the underside of the bar.

Forest dominated the second half, beating Redbridge’s high line time and time again, but they were unable to make the most of their possession.
Lee Scott was guilty of screwing a one-on-one opportunity wide, while Richard Worrell, L’Hereaux Menga and Victor Igbo were also especially wasteful in front of goal.
