Romford Preview (12-11-11)
After two successive away games, Forest return to familiar territory as they face Romford at Cricklefields this weekend.
Forest have drawn their last two matches, and will be looking to build on those good results to return to winning ways in the league.
Romford currently lie in 8th position in the Ryman League table, on the same number of points as Forest (22). However, like many other teams in the division, Romford have played several more games than Forest – in this case, the number is four.
Romford are themselves enjoying a small run of good form. After beating Braintree Town in the Essex Senior Cup, they entertained Heybridge Swifts, and beat them 2-0.
Our last win against Romford came on the 10th of October 2009. With an hour to go, we found ourselves 3-1 down. But goals from Andre Humphrey-Modest and two from Danny Gabriel in the final 15 minutes saw us run out 4-3 winners.
However, since then, our form against Romford has been somewhat shoddy. 4-1, 5-1 2-0 defeats and a 1-1 draw only goes to highlight our poor form last season and the tail end of the 2009-10 season.
Despite this, Forest have made an excellent start to the 2011-12 season, and will be full of hope of taking all three points on Saturday.
Jeff Hammond, who has been missing for the best part of a month now, finally got some playing time under his belt, with an hour against Southend on Wednesday evening. It is hoped that he will be able to start this Saturday, and help fire in the goals that Forest have been missing since his injury,
