Sawbridgeworth Town 3-3 Waltham Forest

Waltham Forest fell back into the familiar habit of snatching misery from the jaws of victory, as they threw away a two-goal lead to only draw with basement side Sawbridgeworth Town.

Forest made the perfect start, with Solomon Ofori putting them ahead in the third minute of the game.

Sawbo then went close, hitting the foot of the post after a goal-mouth scramble following a corner.

However, Ofori doubled Forest’s lead just before half time, converting Jose Agua’s cross after taking a touch to compose himself in the box.

Ofori went close on a number of occasions to netting his third, before Claudio Jose also went close, firing just wide from the edge of the box.

The game then swung back into Sawbo’s favour, with the home side getting back into the game through Cole who fired in unmarked from the penalty area.

But Forest restored their two-goal advantage only seconds later, as skipper Neil Thompson finished a one-on-one chance coolly.

Forest’s naivety allowed Sawbo back into the game, as they were caught out upfield allowing Gavin Cockman to break and put his side back in touch.

Then in the 95th minute, the home side were awarded a penalty. It took until the 98th minute to be taken, Cockman firing in to level the scores with the last kick of the game.
